Who is Rosalyn Blystone?
Rosalyn Blystone is a seasoned performer and emerging director trained in NYC and residing in Youngstown, Ohio. Over the past 30 years, she has acted in numerous community and regional theatre productions spanning from Cleveland to Pittsburgh. Although relatively new to directing, she transitioned naturally into this role, drawing on her extensive experience in both acting and education.
Since 2012, Rosalyn has been employed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the school setting, where she effectively uses her theatre skills to connect with and inspire children who have learning disabilities. Her creativity, improvisation abilities, and flexibility play a crucial role in keeping students engaged, especially when more traditional teaching methods fall short.
Deeply respectful of neurodiversity, Rosalyn’s passion for inclusion drives her commitment to making the arts more accessible. She strives to create greater opportunities by spotlighting women’s and LGBTQ+ stories while advocating for accessible theatre that welcomes performers with physical or intellectual disabilities. Ultimately, she believes our stages should authentically reflect the rich diversity of the world around us.
