Love/Sick in The Moyer Room at The Youngstown Playhouse

The Love/Sick set design was based on the concept that the show was a love letter to the community. The main image of scattered envelopes tied together the 9 different scenes and couples featured in the many stages and expressions of what love looks like. The stamped central envelope was used to project the scene titles in place of the address. The black box style space was transformed by rearranging a moveable door, couch, table, chairs, benches, and boxes to set each scene. The outline of the central envelope upstage on the floor along with focused lighting effects assisted in outlining the confines of the bathroom for one of the scenes. Scene changes were choreographed with the actors and complimented by lighting and music that provided the audience an intentional glimpse into the magical transitions.
